State Functions

In the practice midterm of 2014 5C, the answers say that E is a path function, not a state function.
Why? I thought E was a state function.

Thanks, I was a little confused because on the first page of thermochemistry in the course reader, it said E is a state function.

Hm, forgive me if I am being obtuse here put on p 11 of the course reader it says state properties are U, P, V, T, Density, and Heat Capacity and that path functions are w and q. Where do you see E?

Sorry, I have an older course reader. Maybe it was a typo.
