Anionic ligands
It says in the textbook that anionic ligands that end in -ide, -ate, -ite change their endings to -ido, -ato, ito respectively. I don't think this was covered in class; is this something different? When do we use this for?

Re: Anionic ligands
This is how you would name it under the IUPAC Name Convention. Lavelle uses a different convention, but he says that he accepts both.
There is a sheet on Lavelle's website that has ligands and their names, including the IUPAC Name Convention.

Definitely look at the naming conventions chart on Dr. Lavelle's website: https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... pounds.pdf

Re: Anionic ligands
We use this for naming coordinate compounds. This is correct as it is the new version, but both versions can be used.

Re: Anionic ligands
Both versions can be used, as they simply relate to old and new regulations of naming coordination compounds.

Re: Anionic ligands
Did lavelle ever explicitly say that we had to memorize all the ligands on that worksheet?
