When asked for the shape, are we always supposed to say the molecular geometry rather than the electronic geometry?

Yes, we always write the molecular geometry because it gives a more accurate shape name than electronic geometry.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Lavelle said that he would always be asking for molecular geometry

I think he would clarify which one he wants us to answer but we most likely will be doing molecular geometry

Yes, shape means molecular geometry. Professor Lavelle will be explicit about it on the final though.

When we are asked for the shape then we respond with the molecular geometry, not the electronic geometry.
