Take a a look at this scale. The lower the PH, the more acidic it is. Thus, the stronger the acid, the lower its PH.

Re: pH of acids
You have to remember that pH is defined as -log[H3O+]. If [H3O+]=10^-5, then the pH is 5. If [H3O+]=10^-2, which is a higher concentration and therefore more acidic, then the pH is 2, which is smaller than 5.

Re: pH of acids
if the pH is lower then the acid is stronger, I feel like its just something you kinda have to know

Re: pH of acids
The Ph of a strong acid is lower than that of a weak acid, however the concentration of H+ is greater.

Re: pH of acids
The pH is defined as the concentration of H+ ions within a solution by using the equation pH=-log[H+], so the higher the concentration of H+ ions within a solution indicates that the pH of the acid is lower and therefore stronger.

It's just like a trend. Lower ph equates stronger acids while higher ones are weaker.

Re: pH of acids
Strong acid will have lower pH because it has a full dissociation into more H30+ than a weak acid. pH relies on the amount of H30+ ions (-logH30+) and so more H30+ ions will cause the pH to be lower since you are logging the molarity.

Re: pH of acids
The lower the pH is, the stronger the acid is. This is because pH decreases with the increase of H+ ion concentration, and a greater presence of H+ when compared to OH- indicates base-like properties.

Re: pH of acids
The lower the pH is, the more H+ ions it has, making it more acidic. Higher pHs have a lower H+ concentration and are weaker acids.

Re: pH of acids
Strong acids dissociate far more than weak acids do, which means that they release more hydrogen ions into the solution; this makes the solution more pH, since pH by definition is related to the inverse of the measure of hydrogen ions (the more hydrogen ions there are, the lower the pH is).

Re: pH of acids
A substance becomes more acidic as the pH decreases therefore the lower the pH the stronger the acid. The higher the pH the more basic the substance is therefore a substance with a higher pH will have be a weaker acid.
