Pv=nRT
I just wanted to make sure that the units for temperature in this equation is supposed to be in Kelvin?

Re: Pv=nRT
Yes, based on Dr. Lavelle's slides in lecture, the temperature in the ideal gas law is measured in Kelvin.

Re: Pv=nRT
Yes the temperature should be in Kelvin but you must make sure that the temperature stays the same throughout the reaction or the equilibrium constant will be correct.

Re: Pv=nRT
if in any case it is given in Celsius you only have to add 273.15 to the given temp. and it'll give you the Kelvin temp.

The value of R is the gas constant, which I'm guessing will be a given value.

Re: Pv=nRT
Since there are multiple values of R, make sure the units of the R you are using cancel out/correspond with the other units in the equation.

Re: Pv=nRT
What exactly does each letter represent in PV=nRT? Specifically n, is that the amount of something in moles?

R= 0.08206 L atm/mol K. This is given to us on tests I believe.

Re: Pv=nRT
we only use this equation to convert from partial pressure to concentration and vice versa rt?

Yes, you would use P/RT=Concentration
