Notation
What is the correct notation for computing the partial pressure of gases, is it more correct to use brackets versus parenthesis when doing a problem of this sort?

Re: Notation [ENDORSED]
Brackets denote concentration and partial pressure is not measured by concentration so I would assume that parentheses would be best when you are dealing with partial pressures.

Re: Notation
Yes, my TA usually uses parenthesis or nothing at all when doing a problem with partial pressure. With concentration, brackets are always used.

Re: Notation
Brackets would denote concentration. Therefore, it would be a better idea to use either parenthesis or nothing at all for partial pressure to minimize confusion.

Re: Notation
Brackets represent concentration, so I've seen them used in Kc problems, while I've seen both parentheses and nothing used with equilibrium problems concerning partial pressure
