"bar" meaning

"bar" meaning

this is a dumb question but what does bar mean? I know its only used for pressure but is it like a unit?

Yes, bar is a unit to measure pressure which is approximately equal to an atm, however its slightly larger.

Yes, it is also equivalent to 100 kPa, if that helps.

bar, atm, and PSI can all be used as a unit for pressure in our Kp values

Does anyone know if bar is the standard unit that we'll be using in class and in homework problems? Or will it also be atm, etc.?
