How do you know if a reaction system is at equilibrium?

If you calculate Q and it is equal to K, the reaction is at equilibrium.

A reaction occurs equilibrium when both the forward reaction and the reverse reaction occur at the same rate, this can also be shown when Q=K.

Q and K have to equal each other, then its at equilibrium.

K and Q must be equal which indicates that the reaction is occurring at the same rate forwards and backwards.
