Is the coefficient of the change row in the ICE table always match the stoichiometric coefficients of the reaction?
Thanks!

Re: Ice table coefficients
I'm not sure if I'm correct but to get the change row in the ICE table, isn't it always going to be either -x or +x? I haven't encountered a problem where there are coefficients in front of it. But I am also confused on this topic.
Re: Ice table coefficients [ENDORSED]
If you look on the example 5I.3 7th ed on p.419-420 you see in the change portion of the ICE that there can be a +2x or -2x. These come from the stoichiometric coefficients of the chemical equations

Re: Ice table coefficients
Are there any differences in solving ICE tables for acid-base reactions and gases? Other than keeping in mind partial pressures

Re: Ice table coefficients
For all coefficients in the ICE table, you would follow the stoichiometric coefficients. I think Dr. Lavelle also explained an example in class which used +2x or -2x also.

Re: Ice table coefficients
you have to balance the equation and look at the stoichiometric coefficients to determine that value
