Strong acids and bases
Should we memorize the strong acids and bases so that we know if something is 100% dissociated or not? Or do you think questions will be set up in a way that we know we need to do ICE box?

I believe it is best to memorize some for strong acids and bases. I do not remember which ones, but I think the ones common in homework are good to know.

I think we should be familiar with what strong acids/bases are going to be (for example, HCl/NaOH) so we can recognize them. Additionally, Lavelle said if the Ka is smaller than 10^-3, it means it's a weak acid. The same goes for bases I'm pretty sure.

It wouldn't hurt to memorize some of the strong acids and bases, though you can tell if it is a weak or strong acid by looking at the K value

LiOH - lithium hydroxide
NaOH - sodium hydroxide
KOH - potassium hydroxide
RbOH - rubidium hydroxide
CsOH - cesium hydroxide
Ca(OH)2 - calcium hydroxide
Sr(OH)2 - strontium hydroxide
Ba(OH)2 - barium hydroxide
Strong Acids:
HCl - hydrochloric acid
HNO3 - nitric acid
H2SO4 - sulfuric acid (HSO4- is a weak acid)
HBr - hydrobromic acid
HI - hydroiodic acid
HClO4 - perchloric acid
HClO3 - chloric acid
LiOH - lithium hydroxide
NaOH - sodium hydroxide
KOH - potassium hydroxide

I do not think you need to memorize because you can tell by the K value, however it would not hurt to know common strong acids and bases.
