When delta H is positive, the positive sign indicates that the reaction is endothermic, meaning that it requires heat.

To add, when delta H is positive that means that there is more enthalpy (heat) in the products than in the reactants. This means that heat is required to be added into the reaction to produce the products.

The reaction is endothermic, since a positive value of delta H means that the heat of the products is greater than the heat of the reactants, which means the reaction required the absorption of heat.

When delta H is positive the reaction is endothermic. To understand this you should think of this as determining the amount of heat that is still in the reaction. Since an endothermic reaction absorbs heat, it would make sense that its change in heat would increase. On the other hand, when the reaction releases heat in an exothermic reaction or loses heat, it would make sense that the change in heat would be negative.
