eq constants for acids
why do strong acids not have equilibrium constants? is it because the acid dissociates completely?
Re: eq constants for acids
Strong acids do have Ka values, extremely large ones that, for the purpose of stoichiometry, the value is considered infinity. This is because strong acids will in theory dissolve completely

Strong acids do not have equilibrium constants because they dissociate completely.

Re: eq constants for acids
Strong acids completely dissociate in solution. Because of this, their Ka value would be so large that for this class we just approximate that to be infinity.
