Homework
some of the homework problems do not seem to match up with any of the examples we did in class. Where do these start in the 6th edition

Re: Homework
It is pretty all over the place right now. I skipped around the sections to find some problems that pertained to what we learned in class. There are not a lot.

Re: Homework
I had to skip around because a lot of the homework included subjects we haven't fully covered! Also, if you read through the textbook, you'll be able to understand the processes needed for the problems we haven't gone over in class!

Re: Homework
I jumped around too, but found the textbook chapters to be helpful in gaining a conceptual understanding before trying to solve the problems.

Re: Homework
Like everyone else said, I also had to jump around the 6th edition to find problems that related to the lecture order. However, if you read or skim through the chapter then it isn't too hard to do the earlier homework problems on work, etc.

Re: Homework
If you read the section before you start answering the questions, you should be able to do most of the homework by following the format of the examples given. Dr. Lavelle is going a bit out of order for this unit so I would pick something we've already covered (like Hess's Law) and start with that.

Re: Homework
a lot of the questions tend to jump around if you're following what we learn in class, but by the end of the chapter we usually have covered all the topics

Re: Homework
I saw that too. I think if you start with enthalpies and then go back to the first law it might be more coherent.
