isolated system
If a problem were to include an isolated system, would we be able to do any calculations on it? Or would we just say that everything stays the same?

Re: isolated system
I personally don't think we would get many or any problems with isolated systems because as you said nothing would change, so there would be no calculations to do.

Re: isolated system
Maybe we would only make current calculations on the system's state, but as far as dynamics go, there are none so ya we couldn't really do much.

Re: isolated system
Because both heat and matter can not be transferred into or out of the system, there wouldn’t really be any changes in regards to heat. Because no change in heat is involved, I don’t think there would be any calculations to be done at least in regards to thermodynamics

Re: isolated system
Nothing in an isolated system is exchanged with its surroundings, including heat or work. Right now, I don't think that we will have many problems involving calculations with isolated systems, if we have any.

Re: isolated system
In this class we would probably not need to do any calculations for this type of system seeing as no change can happen but you should be able to identify the characteristics of what an isolated system is.
