What is the difference between and q? How are they related?

delta H is change in enthalpy and q is heat added to the system

Delta H is the change in enthalpy, while q is just heat, so it doesn't represent a change.

In some cases, such as that of delta U, particularly in biological reactions, qp and delta H can be equal because the there is not work due to expansion, meaning that delta U=delta H.

Change in enthalpy (delta H) is the amount of heat (q) absorbed or released at constant pressure.

Delta H represent the heat that changed in reaction, while q represents the heat.
