Suggest a reason why the entropy of ice is nonzero at T= 0; think about how the structure of ice is affected by the hydrogen bonds.

I think it is because ice is a solid and the molecules within are very tightly compacted meaning there is very minimal movement within the ice. Entropy would be very close to 0.

T=0 ie absolute zero does not necessarily mean that there is zero entropy. It does, however, mean that entropy and enthalpy will be at their minimum values.The Third Law of Thermodynamics states that as the temperature of a system approaches absolute zero, its entropy approaches a constant- for pure perfect crystals, constant would be zero because there is only one possible configuration it could adopt. Contrarily, there are many ground states an ideal gas could adopt, meaning entropy is nonzero at T=0.
