bond enthalpies

do you only use gases when solving with bond enthalpies or can you use solids and liquids as well?

all compounds will have bond enthalpies. the only ones that won't are elements!

It is important to remember that while diatomic molecules like O2 have a standard enthalpy of formation of 0, they nevertheless have bond enthalpies.

bond enthalpies can be used for solids and liquids as well
