When to use differential form

Postby Charles Hood Disc 1C » Mon Feb 11, 2019 3:48 pm

When do I use ΔS=q/t instead of ΔS= nC(ln(T2/T1))

You use the q/T equation if temperature is constant. Q is also only for the heat used in a reversible reaction. You use the other equation to calculate a change in entropy associated with a change in temperature. Hope that helps!

If there is a change in temperature you would use the second equation.
