When is delta S = 0?

When is it safe to assume that delta S is equal to 0? Under what conditions and how does this impact S of surroundings and system?

In a review session, one of the TA's said that if the process is reversible then delta S(universe) would be 0, which means that delta S(surroundings)= -delta S(system). Hope that helped!

delta S equals zero when the reaction is reversible because entropy is a state function. When the process is reversible, it starts and ends in the same place making entropy equal to zero.

Delta S equals zero when there is no heat entering the system, because delta S = q(reversible)/T. Hope this helps!
