### Kp equilibrium constant

When calculating the equilibrium constant using pressure, do you have to convert to atmosphere or do units not matter?

I don't believe you necessarily need to always convert the pressure to atm because when you solve for Kp, you can use bars as well for the units.

when its kp, the only thing to make sure about units is that they are all in units of pressure and the same unit of pressure. The units all cancel out in the end, making kp not have a unit.

it doesn't matter what the units are as long as you keep them consistent for each molecule in the equilibrium equation

I think that atm and bar are the two units that can be used to calculate Kp values.

Why do we not add in units when calculating for Kp or Kc? We are plugging in the partial pressures and concentrations, yet we simply ignore the units?

Don't worry too much about the difference between bar and atm -- the numbers would be relatively similar, so it won't matter too much.
