Cell Reaction Order

Cell Reaction Order
When combining half reactions you obtained from a cell diagram does it matter which side the reactants are on and which side the products are? More specifically, as long as all electrons get crossed out does the order or anything else of the final cell reaction matter? It feels like it shouldn't, but not sure if it somehow effects which side the anode and cathode are on.

The anode is where oxidation happens, so you will get an electron as a product. The anode is on the left side of the cell diagram.
The cathode is where reduction happens so you will get an electron as a reactant. The cathode is on the right side of the cell diagram.
When you calculate the cell potential of a functional cell, it should be positive. If, when you combine the cell potential of cathode and the anode, you end up with a negative voltage, you probably want to switch what your anode and cathode are, and therefore, your cell diagram.
