Max Potential

Could someone explain a bit more the concept of max potential and how that gives you the cell potential? I'm confused as to how they relate.

Max potential is related to delta G by delta G= -nFE

The equation deltaG=-nFE shows us that the free energy between the reactants and products (deltaG)
is directly related to the maximum cell potential (E).
