You use different equations for delta g depending on what information you are given in the problem. There are many equations for delta g that can be further substituted, so I don't think there is one "best" equation.

There are many equations in which you can use to solve for delta G. It all depends on what information you are given in the context of the question.

G=H-TS
G=-RTlnK
G=-RTlnK + RTlnQ
etc.
You can combine these and switch out variables but it depends what you are given.
G=H-TS

Delta G can be found in many ways. Its just depends on what the question gives you. For example if it gave the delta H, delta S, and Temperature, you would use Delta G= DeltaH- TDeltaS

There are multiple methods, but deltaG=deltaH-TdeltaS is a powerful equation. Also, we can do G=-nFE
