How does one determine which order a reaction is?

The rate equation can help you determine the order of the reaction. It shows the increase or decrease of a particular substance with respect to time. Or you can just add together the total order numbers of each reactant.

You can analyze the graph of the reaction or add the exponents of the rate law.

When you look at the rate law, you add the exponents of all the concentrations of the reactants.

You look at the exponent of the reactant in the rate law. With multiple reactants you add up the exponents.

the order of a reaction can be determined by looking at the rate law. Add up the exponents on each reactant and that gives you the order.

You take into account the rate law . equation. the sum of the exponents of the reactants gives you the order.
