Re: Final
Do you know if a particular topic will be a lot more covered? For example, equilibrium or redox reactions and what not?

Re: Final
I cannot speak with certainty, of course, but I am guessing there will be at least one question that corresponds with each outline, plus a few quick multiple choice/true or false/very short answer questions concept. Certain outlines could also have multiple dedicated questions, like maybe thermo since there was a lot to cover in that unit.

Re: Final
The final is cumulative, so it will cover material from all quarter. I recommend looking over the outlines & doing homework problems!

Re: Final
The final is pretty evenly everything that we have covered. I wouldn't expect anything to be more common than other stuff.

Re: Final
its going to be a similar format to 14A if you had Lavelle last quarter. The questions are fairly evenly spread out with the material we've learned this quarter. I wouldn't expect a huge emphasis on acid base equilibrium maybe 2 questions max. There probably will be a larger emphasis on midterm material and test 2 and kinetics. Each large topic has 2-3 questions/parts usually.

Re: Final
It's all cumulative, and assuming from the 14A final from his class last quarter, there should be a relatively equal distribution of questions. :)

Re: Final
I believe the final is commutative and will cover all we have learned throughout the quarter.

Re: Final
It will definitely be cumulative, but I think it will focus more on thermodynamics, thermochemistry, and kinetics.
Re: Final
Final will be on all material throughout the quarter, TA said that it will probably be around 8 questions, some may have multiple parts, and you can expect at least 1 question from each topic. Online Lavelle also states that "Questions will come from the Homework and Online Assessments" hope that helps :D

Re: Final
It will be cumulative my TA said, will have 8 questions, and will predominantly focus on thermo/test 2/kinetics.

Re: Final
As everyone said, it is cumulative, and the best preparation is to look at the outlines for each optic covered and make sure you understand all of the bullet points listed. Dr. Labels suggests practicing textbook homework problems is the best preparation.

Re: Final
it will be cumulative, but watch out for topics that have not yet been tested in class (kinetics)

Re: Final
The final definitely will be cumulative. The format will most likely be that there is a question with many parts for each topic we discussed, ex a question on kinetics, a question on electrochem, a question on thermodynamics

Re: Final
The test is cumulative but it will emphasize on new topics after test 2, but everything will be on the test.

Re: Final
It's cumulative, but I would focus more on the newest topics and topics that were not heavily covered on the midterm and two tests.

Re: Final
In a review session, the UA said that Lavelle will most likely have 1-2 Kinetics problems, 2 Thermochem/Dynamics, 1 Electrochem. with 8 questions total. Basically everything is fair game for the final with probably one or two questions from each outline.

Re: Final
The final will definitely cover all of the material that we have learned over the course of this year. You can expect conceptual questions as well as questions that require calculations. I think that most of the material on the final will be on the material that we covered after the midterm, so expect only a few major questions that cover previous topics. I wish you the best of luck studying for the final.

Re: Final
I had this similar question before and someone told me that it will mainly be more on things after the midterm but it will also be cumulative.

Re: Final
Based on my understanding, Lavelle would be testing on concepts mostly past the the midterm especially kinetics and electrochemistry since that is what he has been teaching but it will be cumulative.

Re: Final
Hello! I'm assuming it will be very similar to the 14A final, which had questions from all of the outlines
