How to tell if its in acidic or basic
When we are balancing redox reactions, will we have to be able to tell off the question if it's in an acidic or basic solution or will we have to be able to figure it out off the reaction itself? If so, how do we do that?

Going off of test 2, they usually tell you if it is an acidic or basic solution.

I think they would have to tell us, because in most of the hw problems and in the midterm and tests, they told us whether it was in an acidic or basic solution. :)

They'll tell us. If the balanced redox reaction has H+ in it, it's acidic. If it has OH- in it, it's basic.

The problem would state whether it is in a basic or acidic solution.
