What exactly is an activated complex model and how does it account for temperature dependence of a reaction?

The activated complex I believe is what forms when molecules in a reaction collide in the right orientation to form products. How temperature affects this is that with increasing temperature, there are more collisions, with higher energy (and are able to overcome the energy barrier/activation energy), and therefore as temperature increase, the rate of the reaction increases.
