Next Week's Test

Postby Mansi_1D » Wed Oct 02, 2019 12:08 pm

Hi! Just to make sure, our first test next week will be on the fundamentals only right? Or is it going to include everything we cover in lecture till the test day including the quantum stuff?

I believe the test is on the fundamental high school review topics covered in the 4 module videos that we completed before class. I think we are just going to be touching on these 4 fundamental modules in lectures before the test and I don't think we are going to get to any quantum stuff yet... I was told by my TA that the test will take place during your next 50 min discussion and is roughly 7 questions worth a total of 50 points. Still, this is only a reiteration of the information I was given during my discussion today so if you want clarification I would recommend contacting your TA with more questions.

I asked my TA today to clarify what will be on the test, and he said that it will be just on the fundamental high school topics that we have been going over in class. So, in other words, it is everything he has taught up to this point today, not including anything that relates to Quantum. The test will be taken in your discussion of Week 2.

The test is going to be on the Review of Chemical and Physical Principles ( aka review of High school chemistry) because it was the topic we reviewed this week. We also take the test the day of our discussion date ( if you have discussion on Thursday then it is on Thursday but if it is on Friday then your test will be on Friday). Good luck.

Yes, the test is only on the high school review unit that we learned until today. Although we started the quantum unit and will continue until we take the tests in our discussion sections, he said it won't be covered on next week's test.

Yes, our first test will only be on the fundamentals not the quantum section. To add on to that, just to confirm, the tests are all given in our discussion sections right?

The test will only be on the fundamentals. The first day it will be given out is Tuesday, October 8th in your discussion section. Every discussion will get it next week from Tuesday- Friday.

I think the test is just fundamentals, or what prof Lavelle says is 'review of high school chemistry.' I think as long as you go over the material that we've covered up to now, you should be fine.

If you are well prepared for the topics covered in Fundamentals, I think you should be able to take the quiz with not much trouble. The quiz next week only covers fundamentals and not the quantum topic we started in class today.
