Pen or Pencil for Homework Problems?
Does it matter if these practice problems are in pen or pencil?

No it does not matter, as long as you show all your work and label your homework with your name, UID, and discussion section.

On the syllabus is says that tests and exams must be written in pen. But it does not say anything about homework.

I'd assume It wouldn't matter whether you did the problems with pen or pencil.

I don't think it matters whether you do the homework in pen or pencil. Just make sure to properly label what the title of the homework is, your name, UID, date, and discussion. In addition to that, clearly showing your work and final answer. TAs are looking for completion and accuracy of homework.

There is nothing on the syllabus that says whether we should use a pen or pencil on the homework assignments, so you can use either one.

Re: Pen or Pencil for Homework Problems?
I did not read anything regarding us having to use a pen or pencil on hw problems. However, remember to use a pen when it comes to the exams! :)
Re: Pen or Pencil for Homework Problems?
Because we have to take tests in pen I do homework and notes in pen so I get used to working around mistakes. It also makes me do my work slower and more diligently since I don't want to mess up in pen
Re: Pen or Pencil for Homework Problems?
I typically use pencil for homework since I tend to erase a lot and it helps me be neater without having to cross things out. If you want to work in pen you can always work out a problem on scratch paper and then transfer it onto the homework so it's neater/more detailed. Up to you, I think it's fairly lenient when it comes to that.
