Time of Use

Postby Elyssa Smith 4B » Tue Oct 15, 2019 11:46 am

When will we know to use the Heisenberg equation? Will the question say something about indeterminacy or should we use it when asked for momentum and position at all?

The question will most likely ask you to calculate the uncertainty of momentum or the uncertainty in position

The question will probably ask you to find the uncertainty or indeterminacy of the momentum or in position.

The question, like many of the book problems, may also ask for an uncertainty in velocity since velocity is used to calculate momentum.

For questions that require you to use Heisenberg equation, the question will have the words uncertainty in position, velocity, or momentum. If these words are not stated in the question, then you should not use Heisenberg's equation.

Tips for rearranging his equation?
