All things have wave-particle duality, but due to the behavior of large objects, they act more as particles than waves. Things that are quantized have behaviors that must consider both the wave properties and particle properties such as electrons.
De Broglie's equation asserts that everything with mass has both wave and particle properties. However, because the wavelength of the wave property is inversely proportional to the mass of an object, an object with a significant mass (ie, a baseball), has relatively negligible wave tendencies and acts mainly as a particle.
De Broglie was the first who proposed that all particles have wave-like properties. This can be seen through λ = h/p, with p representing (mass x speed). The wave-particle duality is however more visible when of things with a smaller mass. Larger objects then tend to exhibit mainly particle properties, however technically, they still have a wave-particle duality to them.
Super cool to me: All things have wave-like and particle like properties! (wave-particle duality) What Lavelle explained in class is that large bodies have a negligible wavelength due to their large momentum, but when discussing quantum mechanics wave-particle duality is useful due to to the small momentum of sub-atomic particles.
Wave-particle duality asserts that all objects exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties. Particles with a very small mass, such as electrons, exhibit this wave-particle duality, whereas something that has a very large mass, like a car, will only really show particle-like properties.
