I think there is a maximum size, but I don't think we know what it is. Not going by the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and just going by nuclear attractive forces, bigger nuclei are unstable, which is why they are short-lived and decay quickly. There will be a point where if you keep adding protons or neutrons they just won't be bound anymore.
Well there definitely has to be a limit, otherwise there'd be atoms that'd become so huge, we'd be able to see them with our naked eyes (which doesn't happen). So, yes, but I don't think we have to know that limit for the scope of this class.
