What does the magnetic quantum number (Ml) mean, and how are you able to find it?

The magnetic quantum number tells us about the orientation of the orbitals in relation to other orbitals, which allows us to know more about the electron and its location in the atom.

The quantum number ml is the magnetic quantum number thats useful to determine the orientation regarding the shape and can take values from -l to +l.

The magnetic quantum number labels the different orbitals of a subshell. It can be any number from negative l to positive l.
