What is Molarity?
Could someone please explain molarity and what it means because for different problems in the book it explains it in different contexts like transferring a distinct molarity of something into a particular beaker? Just the wording of some of the problems is confusing.

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity is moles/liters. It refers to the concentration of atoms/molecules in a solvent. When something refers to transferring a specific molarity of a substance, it is talking about a certain concentration of that liquid
Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity is simply just the concentration of solution that is expressed as the number of moles of solute/ the number of liters in the solution. Molarity is used frequently in the textbook during dilution problems and often uses the formula:
Molarity = mols of solute/Liters of solution.
Molarity = mols of solute/Liters of solution.

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity is a measure of concentration. The higher a substances molarity the more solutes. For example, if one sample of salt water has a molarity of 0.1M and another sample has a molarity of 0.9M, then the 0.1M water would be less. salty than the 0.9M sample.

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity refers to the concentration of a solution. The formula for finding molarity is M=n/V. This means that to find molarity, you divide the moles of solute by the volume of solution. The units for molarity are mol/L so make sure you watch your units.

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity as a unit is defined as moles per liter (mol/L). Molarity is basically the concentration. The higher the concentration, the more solutes are present in the solution. Hope this helps!

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity is a measure of the concentration of a solution, is given in moles of solute per liter of solvent, and usually is denoted by "M".

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity is the ratio of the moles of a solute to the liters of the entire solution. This is used to measure the concentration of a specific amount of a substance to the entire solution.

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity is the concentration of a solution expressed as the number of moles of solute per litre of solution.
That is M= Moles of solute/ solution ( in liters)
That is M= Moles of solute/ solution ( in liters)

How do we find normality and what is normality? I have always had troubles with this concept and was looking for clarification.

Re: What is Molarity?
Molarity refers to the amount of moles of solute over the liters of the solvent. For example, 3 moles of NaCl in a single liter of water would be a 3M solution of NaCl.
