What is the most stable Lewis Dot Structure for N20? When i calculated the formal charge, the total charge for both structures was zero.
N::N::O (add electrons to form an octet) or
N:::N:O

Re: Lewis Dot Structure and Formal Charge
Both structures are correct resonance structure, and the one with the triple bond is the preferred one because it is more stable. This is because Oxygen is more electronegative than nitrogen, and also because triple bonds are intrinsically more stable than double bonds.
