Drawing lewis structures
When drawing lewis structures on tests do you need to angle the bonds in the correct ways or would we get full points for drawing our best guess?

I doubt that we need to angle the elements perfectly, I think the main thing is just that you have the configuration with the electrons right.

I am not sure if we will be covering bond angles in class, but if we don't I think you're fine as long as correctly distribute the electrons.

So far, we have not covered bond angles yet so I would assume it is not to be expected from us unless Dr. Lavelle goes over it in a future lecture.

Re: Drawing lewis structures
If the question asks for Lewis structures, I assume it is just the 2D model without angles. I'm sure if we learn about bond angles there will be a separate question.

He said in lecture that we have not learned angles yet and we will learn it later so right now drawing angles is not needed.

Re: Drawing lewis structures
Since this topic has not been covered in - depth yet in the lectures, you shouldn't worry too much about it. But, in general, it is better to be safe than sorry, so when drawing Lewis structures on tests, you should angle the bonds in the correct ways.
