Why do we use the speed of light to calculate the wavelength and frequency of electromagnetic waves, like radiowaves?

Re: Speed of light
EM waves typically travel at the speed 3x10^-8 m/s. Because light is a type of EM wave (and light waves are used in many scenarios), we call it the speed of light.

Re: Speed of light
All EMR moves at the speed of light. Since the calculations utilized is regarding to a type of light, then naturally we should use 3x10^-8 m/s as well.

Re: Speed of light
The units from wavelength (m) and frequency (s) give velocity (m/s). The speed of light is essentially the velocity for these two factors because we are dealing with light waves.

Electromagnetic radiation moves at the speed of light
Because the calc is about a type of light, c= 3x10^-8 m/s is used.

Re: Speed of light
The speed of light is a constant. No matter what kind of light or what variant of light, the wavelength multiplied by the frequency of a specific light sample being studied will always equal this constant 2.98x10^8 m/s

Re: Speed of light
All electromagnetic radiation is light itself which is why they all travel at 3*10^8 m/s. The factors that distinguishes the types of EM waves are frequency and wavelength.

Re: Speed of light
speed of light is 2.998 x 10^8 m/s and this is utilized as waves are part of the light spectrum. Hope this helps!
Re: Speed of light
Electromagnetic radiation move at the same speed as the speed of light hence we use the constant 2.998 x 10^8 m/s for both subjects.

Re: Speed of light
Electromagnetic radiation travels at the speed of light, therefore we use the speed of light to calculate it. Light is a form of electromagnetic radiation, and the speed of light is really the speed of all these EM waves.
