The trend for dissociation energy is that as bond length increases, the dissociation energy decreases.

Dissociation energy is based on bond strength. The shorter the bond, the stronger it is resulting in a higher dissociation energy. For example, triple bonds have the highest dissociating energy and single bonds have the lowest.

I think it would be better to just memorize the values for dissociation energy for the different interactions we went over in class.

For dissociation energy, the stronger the bond the higher the dissociation energy. A shorter bond has higher dissociation energy. For example, comparing a single bond to a double bond. A single bond is longer in length when compared to the double bond and therefore has a lower dissociation energy.

An increase in bond length (a weaker bond) results in a decrease in dissociation energy.
