London dispersion
What type of molecules tend to have LDF? Why are LDFs considered to be the weakest of the intermolecular forces?

Re: London dispersion
All molecules have LDF. They are considered the weakest because they are temporary charges that occur due to a temporary unequal balance of electrons. Therefore, since they are temporary partial charges, they are the weakest.

Re: London dispersion
All molecules have LDF because all molecules have electrons, which means that they all exhibit dispersion forces to some extent.

Re: London dispersion
All molecules have london dispersion forces because the electron clouds in a molecule is nit fixed and tend to shift around and give the molecule an instantaneous dipole moment that allow bonds to be formed in between. They are the weakest because these dipole moments are weak, unstable, and temporary.
