London Forces and Dipole-Dipole
Why is it that London forces always occur when there are dipole-dipole interactions? Will London forces ALWAYS occur when they are dipole-dipole interactions?

Re: London Forces and Dipole-Dipole
London Dispersion forces act on all molecules and atoms. This includes nonpolar molecules, monoatomic gases, and in molecules that also exhibit dipole-dipole interactions.

Is it true then that London Forces also act on polar molecules as well?

Yes, London forces act on all molecules. It does not matter if they are polar or nonpolar, or ionic or covalent.
