Re: Resonance and VSEPR
No ! They don’t determine or change a molecules shape when drawing the VSEPER models.

Re: Resonance and VSEPR
I don't think so because double and triple bonds are still considered one region of electron density.
Re: Resonance and VSEPR
No they are not considered because double bonds and triple bonds are not visually represented in vsper models.

Re: Resonance and VSEPR
They aren't. VSEPR is only determined by the regions of electron density and amount of bonding/lone pairs.

Re: Resonance and VSEPR
Since VSEPR model only take into account the number of electron density regions surrounding the central atom, whether single bond, double bond, triple bond, or combined resonance bond is formed between two atoms, they are still considered as only a single electron density region, and thus VSEPR rule still applies.
Re: Resonance and VSEPR
The resonant structures should not have any impact on how the VSEPR structure is determined mostly because each of the resonant structures can be made into the same shape as the VSEPR (or at least look alike)

Re: Resonance and VSEPR
Resonance structures do not affect vsepr structures - they only explain molecular shape.
