Condition for pi bond
Can you form a pi bond without a sigma bond being present in the same molecule? Or will there also be a sigma bond if you have a pi bond?

There will always be a sigma bond present, because pi bonds are only formed in double and triple bonds, in which a single bond is always within it.
single bond= 1 sigma bond
double bond= 1 sigma bond + 1 pi bond
triple bond= 1 sigma bond + 2 pi bonds
single bond= 1 sigma bond
double bond= 1 sigma bond + 1 pi bond
triple bond= 1 sigma bond + 2 pi bonds

There will not be pi bonds without sigma bonds. A pi bond only occurs for double and triple bonds, where there is 1 sigma bond.

No because pi bonds are formed in the presence of p orbitals and p orbitals are always preceded by s orbitals which create sigma bonds
