What shape would diatomic molecules have? Linear?

Yes, all diatomic molecules have a linear molecular shape, because the only way to connect them is with a line.

If you go by the definition of a bond angle which is the angle for three consecutive atoms, then there wouldn't be a bond angle for a diatomic molecule.

They should all be linear, two atoms together can only make a straight line between.

The shape is always linear, just make sure not to confuse it with polarity. Diatomic molecules are not always nonpolar.
