First, draw the Lewis structure. Observe the bond between atoms.
Use these rules can help you find Sigma bonds and Pi bonds:
Single bond-one sigma bond
Double bond-one sigma bond and one pi bond
Triple bond-one sigma bond and two pi bonds

Look at the lewis structure and the bonds formed between the atoms. single bond is 1 sigma bond, double bond is 1 sigma and 1 pi bond, triple bond is 1 sigma and 2 pi bonds. So the fist bond is always sigma and anything after is a pi bond.

After drawing the lewis structure, the answers are drawn! sigma bonds are single bonds, I remember it with the alliteration "sigma single". pi bonds are double bonds, and I remember that one with the two lines down when you draw a pi symbol. :) I hope this helps.

A single bond has a sigma bond, a double bond has one sigma bond and one pi bond, a triple bond has one sigma bond and two pi bonds.

single bond = 1 sigma
double bond = 1 sigma + 1 pi
triple bond = 1 sigma + 2 pi

The Lewis structure shows you how many single/double/triple bonds there are.
Single bond = 1 sigma bond
Double bond = 1 sigma bond + 1 pi bond
Triple bond = 1 sigma bond + 2 pi bonds

draw the lewis structure. a single bond is one sigma bond, a double bond is one sigma bond and one pi bond, and a triple bond is one sigma bond and two pi bonds.

When there is a single bond, there is one sigma bond. When there is a double bond, there is one sigma bond and one pi bond. When there is a triple bond, there is one sigma bond and two pi bonds.

The lewis or VSPER structure is the only way to find it

Using the Lewis Structure then you can determine which is the central atom (or the one being asked for in the question) and look at the number bonds. The first bond will always be a sigma bond, a double bond has a sigma and pi, and a triple bond will be one sigma and two pi.

The first bond between two atoms is a sigma bond. Each following bond is a pi bond.
