Bronsted vs. Lewis Acids

What is the difference between the Bronsted and Lewis definitions of acids/bases and which definition includes more acids?

Bronsted acids are proton donors whereas lewis acids are electron acceptors.

The difference between Bronsted and Lewis acids and bases is that Lewis acids accept electrons while bronsted acids accept protons. Lewis bases give electrons while bronsted bases give electrons away. They are the same thing but with protons instead of electrons.

Bronsted and Lewis acids essentially mean the same thing but there is a difference in what part of the atom you look at to determine if it's an acid or base. Bronsted acids are proton donors whereas Lewis acids are electron acceptors.

The definition of an acid varies in both cases. Bronsted focuses on protons. A Bronsted acid is therefore a proton donor. However, Lewis focuses on electrons, and a lewis acid is an electron acceptor.

Bronsted acids accept protons and Lewis acids accept electrons.
Bronsted bases donate protons and Lewis bases donate electrons.

A Bronsted atom is a proton donor, whereas a Lewis acid is an electron acceptor. While the definition of these acids are different, they are complimentary, meaning that if a molecule is a Lewis acid it is also a Bronsted acid. Therefore, both definitions are acceptable.

Lewis acids accepts electrons, while Bronsted acids donate protons (H+). They are essentially the same, but one looks at electrons, while the other focuses on protons

One of the differences is that bronsted acids donate protons, however Lewis acids accept electrons.
