Pneumonic devices for trends

Postby Drew Myers 4G » Sun Nov 24, 2019 6:52 pm

Does anyone have an easy way to memorize the trends in the periodic table?

What helped me identify periodic trends was marking my own periodic table every chance I could to ensure I really knew the main trends.

I also like to draw two arrows pointing towards one another (down a group, across a period) and label whether or not it's increasing or decreasing.

I do the arrow thing as well. I draw an arrow going from bottom to top on the side, and left to right. Lastly a diagonal aloo from bottom left to top right. These are all for increasing electronegativity and ionization energy.
