OH2 vs H2O

Postby JChen_2I » Mon Nov 25, 2019 9:29 pm

Would we get marked down if we were to write H2O instead of OH2 when the central metal is binding to the O?

I don't know if we will get marked down, but I would make sure to write it showing which atom is bonded to the central atom as the common convention.

I don't think you would get marked down, but just make sure that you make it clear that you know that the O is the one being bonded to the central atom!

You would not be marked down because they're interchangeable.

You wouldn't get marked down, since OH2 makes it more clear in which one has the bond with the central atom.
