midterm/final

Postby annikaying » Sat Oct 19, 2019 3:49 pm

Does anyone know if the midterm/final is going to be more about concepts or calculations? For example which is more likely an essay question or a calculation?

Just going off test 1 and how that was all calculations I feel like all the test including the midterm and final are going to be calculated based and will not feature any short answer or essay questions.

I think it will mostly be calculations because going off test 1, it was mostly calculations and response questions.

I feel like it will all be mostly calculated problems, but there might be some conceptual questions thrown in (for example, T/F on if the energy of a photon is inversely proportional to the wavelength of the radiation.)

I feel like it would be mostly calculations. But, you can check past midterms in his class. i think theres a test bank somewhere.

If its similar to the midterm, the final will mostly be calculations based off of concepts and maybe one to two questions where you explain the concept itself

I also think it would be calculations and concepts!

In past exams Lavelle seemed to include mainly calculations-based problems. But ever since this year or so, he's included a lot more concept-based questions

probably like the midterm, mostly calculation with some conceptual problems.

It should be mostly calculations, but also you should know the quantum world photoelectric effect and descriptions of trends and so on. Its fair game to be asked to explain IM Forces and other things.

I think there will be a good balance between the two as it should probably follow the format of the midterms.

Based on the midterm there will probably be more calculation problems, but conceptual problems will be on the final as well.

I think it’s going to be more calculation heavy based on the midterm mixed with conceptual questions so I wouldn’t neglect studying them.

It’ll more than likely be a mix of the two, with an emphasis on calculations and some conceptual understanding as well.

It will probably be a combination of both.

Calculations are more common, but there will probably be 2 or 3 conceptual questions. However, most times you have to know concepts in order to know how to calculate.

the test will prob consist more of calculation with a few concept questions thrown in, but you need to know all the concepts to answer the questions.

actually based on the types of questions given out during review it could be heavily calculation based but still have many conceptual questions
