Proton acceptor and proton donor?

Which is a proton acceptor and which is the proton donor? I always forget it lol

Acids are proton donors. Bases are proton acceptors. Something that is acidic has a lot of protons in it, because the acids lost them (i.e donated) in the solution.

Based on the Bronsted definition of acids and bases, acids are proton donors and bases are proton acceptors. (The Lewis definition deals with whether species donate or accept electron pairs.)

The Bronsted Acid is the proton donor and the Bronsted Base is the proton acceptor.

The proton acceptor is the Bronstead Base/ e- pair donator (Lewis Base), and the proton donor is the Bronstead Acid/ e- pair acceptor (Lewis Acid).

According to the Bronsted-Lowry defintion, acids are proton donors and bases are proton acceptors

These terms are more directly related to Bronsted-Lowry descriptions.

Bronsted acids are proton donors and Bronsted bases are proton acceptors. Lewis acids and Bases have to do with non-bonding electrons.

A Bronsted acid donates a proton.
A Bronsted base accepts a proton.

This is different than

A Lewis acid accepts an e- pair.
A Lewis Base donates an e- pair.

bases are proton acceptors, so they gain a H+. acids are proton donors, so they lose a H+

Acids are the ones who give the proton, aka H+, while bases are the ones who receive it.
