pH calcuations

Postby kpang_4H » Sun Dec 01, 2019 6:00 pm

Are pH=-log(H+) and pH=-log(OH-) the only equations we need to know, regarding pH, for the final?

Other than molarity calculations we did ad the beginning of the quarter, we have not done any other calculations with pH besides the ones you have mentions, so I assume so.

Regarding concentrations and the equations related to acid/base reactions I imagine we'll probably have to know those equations about Kb and Ka.

It may also be helpful to remember that pH + pOH = 14.

I think so, unless he gives us another one

That and pH+pOH=14, and perhaps equations relating to Ka.

Just to clarify, I think it's a typo, but pH= -log(H+) and pOH= -log(OH-). Make sure the pH is associated with the H+ / H3O+ and the pOH is associated with the OH-
